It was a year after I graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in photography. A family friend asked me to photograph her daughter's wedding, and on the day of her wedding everything clicked.
I fell head over heels in love.
For me it was simple: through all the planning and coordinating, all the color picking and cake tastings, in the end, everything came down to this: a boy and a girl had found each other, fallen in love, and were there to promise themselves to each other. It was beautiful, and I knew I had to be a part of it. I wanted to be the one who was there to capture it all: the big things, the little things, and all the in-between things that would tell the story of their day.
I knew I had found what I was meant to do.
Since that day, I’ve learned that behind each of my couples, and behind every wedding I
photograph, is a story. That's what I strive to capture. Though we're living in a time when
everything seems to be faster, busier and just more, life is short, and love is still so important. Photography, for me, is a way to slow down time and press pause for a moment, so that later we can look back and remember. My style is simple and sweet and behind the camera, I'm all about soft beautiful light and shallow depth of field. My couples are the best thing that's ever happened to me, and every day I'm reminded why I'm really so lucky to do what I do.
The brides I work with often share my passion for beautiful honest-to-goodness-real-life imagery and storytelling. For them, the most important thing is capturing the day as it happens--through smiles and tears, rain or shine, in a beautiful flurry of activity, and lovey-dovey goodness.
