Whether you’re interested in booking MSP for a wedding or engagement shoot, or just curious to know more about how I work, the following are some of the questions I get on a day to day basis. Q: Why do you shoot weddings?
A: Simply put, I’m a wedding photographer because I love photography almost as much as I love people (and love!)! I think everyone deserves to have gorgeous pictures to remember their wedding day by, and love that I can offer that for my brides and grooms.
Q: How long have you been shooting?
A: I have been a portrait photographer for 2 years and will start my second wedding season in the spring of 2012
Q: Do you have any formal training?
A: Yes! I graduated from the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University with a degree in photography (as well as a degree in French. Bonjour!)
Q: What equipment do you use? Do you have backup equipment?
A: I use all professional Nikon lenses, bodies and flashes, and always carry backup equipment!
Q: Can we customize our package?
A: Absolutely! There are three packages to chose from starting from basic coverage, all the way to a family package, but you can also add extra albums, professional prints and other items from the a la carte menu any time you like.
Q: Approximately how many images will we receive and what is the turnaround time for our photos?
A: While every wedding is different, you will generally receive between 500 and 700 images on a high-res disc 6-8 weeks after your wedding day. Album design will begin at that time and takes approximately 3-4 weeks. With engagement sessions, you will generally receive between 30 and 40 photos (with a turnaround time of 4-5 weeks).
Q: What is a “First Look?”
A: A first look is a mini portrait session of you and your fiance just before you walk down the aisle! Opting for a first look allows us to capture all the beautiful emotion between the two of you on your wedding day, and offers a quiet, intimate look at your and your fiance, moments before you become husband and wife.
Q: What is a “Day-After Session?”
A: A day after session is a portrait shoot scheduled any time after you’re married that allows us to capture gorgeous photos of you in your wedding dress! Including a Day-After Session in your package allows us to really spend some time capturing you (and your fabulous dress!) without the time constraints of the wedding day schedule.
Q: How do I reserve my date?
A: Once you’ve decided on a package, all you need to do to reserve your date is complete your contract information and pay a 50% retainer fee. After the retainer and fee are received, your date is officially reserved! The remaining balance is due 14 business days before your wedding date.
Q: How far in advance are you booked?
A: Many couples choose to book their photography services a year in advance as schedules do tend to fill up during peak wedding season (May-September in the Northeast). You can check my full availability on my blog www.marthaswann.com/blog in the contact form area.
