Kelly & Matt // An Ithaca Farmer's Market Wedding
Kelly and Matt were married on the most brilliantly sunny summer day in Ithaca, New York at one of my favorite venues ever--the Ithaca Farmer's Market. They exchanged their vows by the lake and then danced the night away with friends and family under cafe lights and lanterns as the band played all of their favorite songs. We photographed their engagement session at Cornell (where Kelly and Matt first met!) the summer before, and spent an evening exploring their favorite spots on campus, running through grassy fields and chatting wedding plans for the year to come. When the day finally arrived, Kelly wore a gown by Sarah Seven, and incorporated family heirlooms in her wedding day look--her grandmother's pearls, her mother-in-law's ring, and her aunt's earrings too. But beyond the stunning dress, and the beautiful jewelry, what I'll remember even more clearly is the joy that enveloped Kelly and Matt and their families as they prepared for their ceremony. From Kelly getting ready with her girlfriends at the Argos Inn (under a sign that read "The One Where Kelly Gets Married"), and exchanging letters and gifts with her bridesmaids before donning her wedding dress (everyone cried, including me), to the sweetest first looks with her father and Matt and picking our way through tree-lined paths for their portraits at the Cornell Botanic gardens--every moment leading to their vows was carefully planned to devote quality time with the people that mattered most to them.Below are some of my favorite moments from the day--dancing on the dock at sunset, Matt in his party shirt, lots of toasts, vows and happy tears, and the sweetest newlyweds starting a new life together under the stars.
