Sharing our stories has the ability to create change
Whether documenting motherhood journeys, collaborating with activists to raise awareness for meaningful causes, or contributing my personal voice to conversations close to my heart, I deeply believe that sharing our stories has the ability to change the world we live in for the better.
I’m passionate about projects centered in matrescence, pregnancy, birth, miscarriage, parenting and family relationships, and through my work I strive to share authentic stories and create lasting change.

The Loss, Love, Motherhood Project
After working for years to document the stories of families all over the country, I returned to school in pursuit of exploring the world of narrative-driven, cause-focused storytelling. Knowing firsthand how powerful our experiences can be when they are shared rather than relegated to silence, I embarked on one of the projects that, after years of collaboration, research, and study, would hold a very special place not only in my heart, but in my own personal history as well.
The Loss, Love, Motherhood Project was born out of a desire to help families near and far to feel less alone in their experiences of pregnancy loss along their roads to parenthood. I’m forever grateful to the women and men who shared their stories with me, and honored that they trusted me to share them with others. Below are excerpts of the dozen stories we collected. The final one I wrote was my own.
“Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go…”
