Blackburn Wedding
I still remember the day that Ashley first called me, and told me that she wanted to have her first look on top of a mountain, surrounded by nature, so she could spend a few moments with the man she loved before her wedding day began. I was already smitten with them both, and their beautiful approach to planning and the experience of their wedding day itself (both for themselves and their family and friends too) had me wishing that their reception would stretch even later into the night (even as I photographed their wedding day when I was 8 months pregnant!)Ashley planned every moment of the day to allow them to savor each experience, and create a relaxed and enjoyable time for everyone that was involved. They lingered getting ready, enjoying the calm before the rush of the day's activities, carved out time for a gondola ride up Whiteface Mountain, and portraits in the mist at the summit, and chatted with friends and family until the sun began to dip below the trees, before heading inside to a fireside dinner at Whiteface Lodge.I feel like we as wedding photographers must sound like a broken record, intoning at every turn "your wedding day goes by so quickly! Make sure you take the time to enjoy it!" and so I was so happy for Ashley and Scott that they were able to summit a mountain together, hug every guest, cut (and eat!) their cake, and dance the night away as the stars came out--all while taking plenty of time to enjoy it all with their family and friends who had traveled so far to celebrate with them.As the happy couple celebrates one year as Mr. & Mrs. this fall, here are a few favorites from their day. Ashley & Scott, here's to many, many more years together. The best is yet to come <3[pp_gallery id="14063" style-id="__full-size-images__"]
